Kevin Brant, MBACP (Accred), PG Dip.
Counsellor & Psychotherapist
Before becoming a counsellor / psychotherapist, I had a varied life and career. I decided to become a counsellor having benefitted enormously from counselling due to difficult circumstances in my own life.
I trained with the NHS, achieving a Diploma in Integrative Counselling with Distinction. My qualification was accredited with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and I am an accredited member of that professional body, which means I am an advanced practitioner. I also have a further post-graduate Diploma in Evidence-based Psychotherapies and I am fully insured and DBS cleared.
I have extensive counselling experience having worked in different counselling settings including for the NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service. More recently, I have worked with terminally ill patients and their families in a hospice.
I believe counselling can support everyone and I value diversity and difference. I have worked with clients of different races, sexualities, those with disabilities and clients from a range of faiths. I provide a safe, non-judgemental environment that seeks to empower you, recognising your uniqueness and abilities. I offer you encouragement and, when appropriate, challenge to help you achieve your counselling goals. As a professional counsellor, I have regular supervision to ensure that I provide the best possible support to my clients and continue to keep abreast of developments in counselling a psychotherapy through regular ongoing training. You will find more information about me on my Counselling Directory profile which only lists certified counsellors.
